Eureka Kikuyu is a vigorous growing lawn that prefers full sun. It is hard wearing and provides dense coverage making ideal for high traffic areas such as larger public spaces, racecourses and parks.

Often referred to as a great allrounder as with the right amount of water and care, its deep green colour and aggressive growth it can be a great lawn for large areas.

It has a medium leaf and a dense root system which not only makes it lush but also aids in keeping the moisture in and the weeds out. It is a good self repairer, making it perfect for larger spaces with high traffic.

Why Choose Eureka Kikuyu grass?

Vigorous growth: Eureka Kikuyu is fast growing making it strong, reliable and a good at self repairing. It is a good option for larger areas such as parks, race courses and back yards. It does need full sun.

Self repairer: The deep root base and vigorous growth habit help it recover from damage. It also makes it tolerant to erosion and can tolerate waterlogged soils.

Medium green leaf: The medium bright green leaf will leave the grass area looking green and lush during the warmer months.

Drought tolerant: It is quicker to establish and once established the dense root system enables the lawn to hold moisture therefore requiring less watering than other varieties of kikuyu. Watering in summer should be done on an as needed basis to avoid thatch build up.

Medium maintenance: the dense root system and tight growth mat will help hold out weeds. It also has superior disease resistance when compared with other kikuyu varieties. The aggressive growth will require regular mowing.

Just remember: it is an intrusive grass which means it can take over other areas where it is unwanted so your maintenance plan will need to address this. It will brown off in winter in cooler areas but will recover in spring.
